Creative reflection for the just ended month of Masá’il (Questions), using this quotation by Abdu’l-Bahá.

"the teachings of His Holiness Bahá'u'lláh spread far and wide fifty years ago, they verily comprehend all other teachings. It is clear and evident that without these teachings progress and advancement for mankind are in no wise possible. Every community in the world findeth in these Divine Teachings the realization of its highest aspirations. These teachings are even as the tree that beareth the best fruits of all trees. Philosophers, for instance, find in these heavenly teachings the most perfect solution of their social problems, and similarly a true and noble exposition of matters that pertain to philosophical questions. In like manner men of faith behold the reality of religion manifestly revealed in these heavenly teachings, and clearly and conclusively prove them to be the real and true remedy for the ills and infirmities of all mankind. Should these sublime teachings be diffused, mankind shall be freed from all perils, from all chronic ills and sicknesses. "

As many around the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ, I wanted to share a quote from Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, glorifying the station of Jesus:

'Through Him the l***r recovered from the leprosy of perversity and ignorance. Through Him, the unchaste and wayward were healed. Through His power, born of Almighty God, the eyes of the blind were opened, and the soul of the sinner sanctified.'

As we conclude the Bahá’í month of Qawl(Speech), let's creatively reflect on this quotation from Bahá’u’lláh:

It is clear and evident to thee that all the Prophets are the Temples of the Cause of God, Who have appeared clothed in divers attire. If thou wilt observe with discriminating eyes, thou wilt behold Them all abiding in the same tabernacle, soaring in the same heaven, seated upon the same throne, uttering the same speech, and proclaiming the same Faith. Such is the unity of those Essences of Being, those Luminaries of infinite and immeasurable splendor! Wherefore, should one of these Manifestations of Holiness proclaim saying: “I am the return of all the Prophets,” He, verily, speaketh the truth.

Today Bahais around the world are celebrating the Day of the Covenant, a special occasion in the Bahá’í calendar commemorating the unique station of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá as the Center of Bahá’u’lláh’s Covenant.

On this day, Bahais reflect on the life and mission of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, who dedicated His entire life to fostering unity, peace, and love among all peoples.

At most the difference between them is that of degree, for the effulgence is one effulgence, the one light emanating from the Sun. This will express the oneness of the world of humanity. "

Every year, Bahais around the world come together to celebrate the Twin Holy Days, two of the most joyous occasions in our calendar. This special time marks the births of two central Figures of the Bahai Faith, the Bab and Baha’u’llah, whose lives and teachings guide us in building a world founded on unity, justice, and love.

Here is the Tablet of the Birth written by Bahaullah. Iam sharing two versions; A non-coloured one to decorate yourself, and one with colour. May this creative resource add onto your celebrations;

Monthly reflection for the concluded month of Izzat (MIght). We are reflecting on this quotation by Bahá'u'lláh.

Every time I lift up mine eyes unto Thy heaven, I call to mind Thy highness and Thy loftiness, and Thine incomparable glory and greatness; and every time I turn my gaze to Thine earth, I am made to recognize the evidences of Thy power and the tokens of Thy bounty. And when I behold the sea, I find that it speaketh to me of Thy majesty, and of the potency of Thy might, and of Thy sovereignty and Thy grandeur. And at whatever time I contemplate the mountains, I am led to discover the ensigns of Thy victory and the standards of Thine omnipotence.

On 10th July, Baháʼís around the world will commemorate the martyrdom of the Bab, the forerunner of the Baháʼí Faith who was put to death by firing squad in the public square of Tabriz, Iran. The Bab had attracted tens of thousands of people to His teachings, thousands of whom were killed in persecutions that swept Iran. Finally, authorities had the Bab Himself put to death in an attempt to stamp out the new religion. His sacred remains were brought to Haifa for entombment on Mount Carmel. Today His shrine is one of the most famous landmarks in Israel, and the Baha’i Faith is established in virtually every country. The anniversary of the martyrdom of the Bab is one of nine holy days when Baha’is suspend work. It is commemorated with prayers and special programs. As many commemorate "random act of kindness"day, it's a good reminder on how we should be living. Here is a small story about Abdu’l-Baha. One day ‘Abdu’l-Bahá was asked how one should live. His reply was, 'Be kind to everyone.' One must not 'belittle the thought of another'. This kindness must reach out even to those who may suffer mental illness, as the Master so beautifully demonstrated when Mirza Aqa Jan, who had been the amaneunsis of Bahá-u-llah, became very disturbed. In spite of the troubles that this ill man caused, the Master did not want him banished to Yemen as the mayor of 'Akka suggested. To Juliet Thompson the Master said, 'Never let anyone speak of another unkindly in your presence. Should anyone do so, stop them. Tell them it is against the commands of Bahá’u’lláh, that He has commanded: "Love one another." Never speak an unkind word, yourself, against anyone. If you see something wrong, let your silence be your only comment...'
