Lane Closures on I-75 Northbound and Southbound in Grant County through June 15
Lane closure area: WIlliamstown (Exit 154) to Corinth (Exit 144)
CORRECTION: Two lanes on I-75 southbound will be closed only when night work is performed. Daytime work will be done from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. (April 7, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 6 Office advises motorists of lane closures on Interstate 75 in Grant County through June 15. The road work is taking place on I-75 northbound and southbound between the Williamstown and Corinth exits (mile points 145.53 to 151.11)

Work on I-75 southbound is underway with the right lane currently closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crews are working on milling, paving, adding new guardrail, and completing shoulder work.

Monday, April 10, crews will begin work on I-75 northbound between the Williamstown and Corinth exits. Motorists should expect to see the right lane closed as similar work is performed.

As crews work during the day, two lanes will remain open on I-75 northbound and southbound until the project is completed. When crews work overnight, motorists should expect to see a double lane closure. The double lane closure may be in place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Advance notice will be given when crews work overnight. Message boards are also in place before both road work zones to inform motorists of the lane closures.

Motorists should expect traffic delays associated with the road work.

Yet another round of high winds expected this weekend, power outages likely
Once again, extremely gusty conditions are expected to arrive with the passage of another strong front this weekend. The already saturated grounds combined with severe wind gusts will increase the likelihood for widespread power outages across the region. Our crews are ready to respond, but persistent winds can sometimes prevent our crews from raising hydraulic buckets needed for repairs. In turn, this can result in outage restoration times that are longer than normal. As always, we encourage customers to prepare in advance.

Follow these helpful steps to be ready:

Prepare ahead of time
Visit our Storm Center to learn how to remain safe during all phases of a storm and consider making plans for the elderly and those with special medical needs, should extended outages occur.
Sign up for Outage Alerts and know how to report an outage
Receive the most up-to-date information about restoration efforts by enrolling in Outage Alerts. If you lose power, text OUT to 57801, report online, through the mobile app, or call 1.800.544.6900.
Understand how Duke Energy restores power
Our crews are ready to respond should outages occur. Learn more about the restoration process following damaging winds.
Our crews are prepared and will work as quickly as possible to restore power to all communities impacted.

"The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 6 Office advises motorists of a permanent closure of the railroad crossing connecting KY 1560 (Barnes Road) to U.S. 25 in Grant County.
Beginning Thursday, March 30, this section of KY 1560 will be closed to traffic. The area will be barricaded to allow Norfolk Southern to remove signal equipment and pavement adjacent to the track line. Riegler Blacktop will be completing the rest of the work as awarded by KYTC. Signals and signage will be changed according to the new traffic pattern.
Closure of the crossing does not mean loss of access to U.S. 25. Motorists have two safer options – nearby railroad overpasses on Helton Road and Baton Rouge Road. Both are accessed via KY 3025 (Arnie Risen Boulevard).
Message boards are in place to notify the public. Motorists should seek an alternate route."
