American Rescue Workers in Williamsport hosted their annual Holiday Food Distribution to 1200 in-need families in Lycoming County on Friday. Families had to pre-register to receive the food. With the support of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank all participants received items for a traditional holiday meal to make at home for their own families. FBI investigating reports of large drones flying in New Jersey, seeks public's help
The FBI is investigating reports about several mysterious nighttime drone flights that have recently occurred across central New Jersey and has asked the public for help. Witnesses have spotted a cluster of what appears to be drones — larger than those typically used by hobbyists — as well as a possible fixed-wing aircraft flying in several areas along the Raritan River since Nov. 18. It’s not clear why the flights happened or who was flying the devices, but federal and state officials stress that there currently is no known threat to public safety. The flights have raised questions in part because they took place near the Picatinny Arsenal, a U.S. military facility, and over President-elect Donald Trump’s golf course in Bedminster.
Rescuers reassess the safety of their search for a woman they believe fell into a sinkhole
UNITY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Rescuers are contemplating the safest way to search for a woman who apparently fell into a sinkhole while looking for her lost cat above an old coal mine in Pennsylvania. They said Wednesday that the crumbling mine was complicating efforts and endangering workers. A state police spokesperson says the integrity of the mine has been compromised and rescuers are reassessing their tactics. Bright lights illuminated snow flurries and equipment at the site while crews worked above and below ground. The search began Tuesday after 64-year-old Elizabeth Pollard’s family called police to say she had not been seen since going out Monday evening to look for her cat named Pepper.

'It's a bird! It's a plane!' In Alaska, it's both, with a pilot tossing turkeys to rural homes
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — In the remotest reaches of Alaska, there’s no relying on DoorDash to have Thanksgiving dinner delivered. But some residents living well off the grid nevertheless have turkeys this holiday, thanks to the Alaska Turkey Bomb. For the third straight year, a resident named Esther Keim has been dropping frozen turkeys from an airplane to those who can’t simply run out to the grocery store. She launched her turkey delivery mission a few years back after she found out a family of three had only one squirrel to split for Thanksgiving. She planned to drop 32 turkeys this year and more in years to come.
