FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 15th, 2024

DEATH INVESTIGATION

(Wildwood, Florida) Death Investigation at Wildwood Shopping Center, Shopping Center Dr, Wildwood, FL – On May 14th, 2024, at approximately 7:00am, the Wildwood Police Department worked an investigation into a death by natural causes. An individual was found in his vehicle by a passerby and after our agency and EMS responded to the scene, it was determined that the individual passed away due to natural causes.

This incident was not a result of any violent offense and there is no threat to the public stemming from this incident.

Our Detectives have completed their investigation and there are no further updates/details expected.

TRAFFIC ALERT: I-75 OXFORD AREA

Two northbound lanes and two southbound lanes will be shut down on I-75 at mile marker 335 (just south of the Marion County line) due to a severe crash. Please use alternate routes or expect delays. We will provide an update when one is available.
