With the summer upswing of visitor rescues and heat-related deaths in our national parks and public lands, local search and rescue teams are critical to saving lives. Here are some words of wisdom from the team you don't want to meet.
Moab's Trail Ambassadors
Earlier this year we had the privilege of filming Moab's Trail Ambassadors out on some of Moab's most popular trails, educating folks on safety and responsible recreation. In November, Grand County's Trail Ambassador program received the honored designation of Gold Standard site from Leave No Trace.

PLA Convention Washington DC, March 2020
Three years ago in Washington, DC we filmed this video for the Public Lands Alliance – it was the first week of March, 2020 and there was talk of this virus that might disrupt National Park visitation. How little we knew! This year’s PLA Convention is in-person February 26 to March 2 at the Oregon Convention Center. Cheers to that!

Winter Fairy Shrimp at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Have you ever seen a fairy shrimp in the desert? January rain brought life to normally-dry depressions at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada. Macro filming reveals fairy shrimp feeding in a temporary pool – ancient creatures that have adapted to the harshest of environments. They can hatch within 24 hours of a rain and their eggs last years on bare rock, surviving scorching summer temperatures and freezing winters.
