Are you ever taking a picture or filming a video and your shot looks a little too bright or dull? Chances are you need to adjust your camera's exposure.

Exposure is the amount of light that reaches your camera sensor. Many beginner friendly cameras and smartphones have a dedicated setting where exposure can be easily adjusted. Exposure can also be changed in your camera by adjusting your shutter speed and aperture settings.

The key to having the right balance of exposure in your photos or video is paying attention to your environment, your camera's exposure will be a lot lower on the beach than it would in a dark room with low lighting. If you're just starting out with a new camera, take the time to experiment with the shutter speed or aperture settings in different environments in order to get the right exposure.

With the holidays treats fast approaching, we can't help but think of how Chocolate Chip Cookies were created right here in Whitman!

It all started back in 1939. Ruth Wakefield, who ran the successful Toll House restaurant in Whitman, Massachusetts, was mixing a batch of cookies when she decided to add broken pieces of Nestlé Semi-Sweet chocolate into the recipe expecting the chocolate to melt.

Candle Safety Tips 🕯

Consider using battery operated flameless candles. If you do use lit candles, make sure they are in stables holders and placed somewhere they cannot be knocked down.

Don't use lit candles in bedrooms, bathrooms, and sleeping areas.
Keep candles at least 12 inches away from anything that burns.
Blow out candles when you leave a room or home, or when you go to bed.
