This past Saturday, our community came together to celebrate the holiday season with a wonderful Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting! We want to thank all the participants for their amazing entries and everyone who helped make this event a success—your efforts truly brought the holiday spirit to life.

The courthouse is now beautifully lit up, spreading holiday cheer across our community. If you haven’t seen it yet, we highly recommend stopping by to enjoy the lights!

Unfortunately, we didn’t get many pictures of the festivities, so we’d love to see the event through your eyes! If you captured some great moments during the parade or at the tree lighting, please share them with us in the comments or send them our way.

McCreary County Chamber of Commerce started a new Christmas tradition, Christmas Tree Lane. Help pick a winner!

🎄 Christmas Tree Lane Judging 🎄
Location: McCreary County Park

It’s time to vote for your favorite Christmas tree on Christmas Tree Lane! Judging will take place now through Friday, December 20th. The tree with the most votes will be crowned the 2024 Christmas Tree Lane Winner!

A few trees are still in the works and will be added soon, so keep checking back to see all the festive displays.

The McCreary County Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring you Christmas Tree Lane, a brand-new holiday event for locals and businesses to showcase their festive spirit and creativity! For just $50, a business or community member can join in by decorating a tree in a unique, electricity-free way that captures the holiday magic. (*solar/battery lights are allowed)

Event Details:

Cost: $50 (includes the tree to decorate, stake for support, and a sign with your business name)
Location: Trees will be displayed around the walking trail at the county park
Decorating Days: Wednesday, December 4th and Thursday, December 5th
Deadline: All trees must be decorated by noon on Friday, December 6th
Judging: Runs from Friday, December 6th, through Friday, December 20th

The winner will be announced on Saturday, December 21, following the Ugly Sweater 5K. Don't miss this unique opportunity to spread holiday cheer, honor a loved one, promote your business, and compete for the top spot on Christmas Tree Lane! Reserve your tree today!

Christmas Tree Lane RULES
1.) Sponsorship is $50.

2.) The tree will be supplied. The sponsor supplies all lights and decorations.

3.) Trees will be set up in the grass area around the walking trail at the McCreary Co. Park.

4.) Decorating can begin on 12/4 and be completed by noon on 12/6..

5.) Sponsor signage will be provided.

6.) All decorations will need to be removed starting 12/27. Trees will be taken down on 12/30.

7.) A picture of each tree will be posted on Facebook. The picture with the most likes will win the Christmas Tree Lane Traveling Trophy. Judging will run from Friday, December 6th, through Friday, December 20th

8.) Sponsors are responsible for the lights. We recommend using LED solar lights or battery lights. There is no access to electricity.

9.) No glass ornaments are permitted. Make sure to use decorations that can sustain changing weather. Laminate any paper decorations. Pipe cleaners or zip ties help to secure ornaments on the tree.

10.) While the area is monitored the McCreary Co. Chamber and McCreary Co. Park are not responsible for any lost or stolen items from the tree.

Yamacraw 40K

This morning, the Yamacraw Trail Runs kicked off with the 40 Mile race. Despite the nasty weather conditions, participants showed incredible resilience and determination. Stay tuned for more updates on the other races and the amazing spirit of our runners!
