UPDATE: Frontier Waste Solutions was planning on running full operations tomorrow (1/10), but unfortunately they have been informed that all area disposal stations will be closed. This means they would not have anywhere to dump the trash. The new plan is that Frontier will not run tomorrow but will bring extra trucks on Saturday to finish thursday’s pickup and get everyone who normally has Friday pickup.

TRASH SERVICE UPDATE: Thanks to some smart operational adjustments, Frontier Waste Solutions was almost able to complete the full Thursday trash pickup route before road conditions got too bad. They had only a few streets and two apartment complexes left on today’s route. The streets not completed in today’s route were Grant Circle, Moran Street, Parkside Drive, South Redford, part of Joy, part of Dale Ct, Westlake Gardens and Bella Terra Apartments. If you are in one of the areas that were not completed, leave your carts out and Frontier will be back tomorrow to service them. Anyone on the Friday route should put their carts out tonight as usual (be careful in the slick conditions!). Frontier will be utilizing a delayed start tomorrow to allow for road conditions to improve and will finish out the Thursday route before starting on the Friday route. Anything that’s not finished tomorrow will be picked up on Saturday.

Students return to school Wednesday! We are monitoring the inclement weather that is forecasted for Thursday and Friday. We are in close contact with the National Weather Service, local emergency management personnel, and area school districts.

The safety of our families and staff will always be our top priority when we are faced with decisions about school closings due to weather. The following factors are considered:

- Road conditions to determine whether buses/cars can safely travel
- The existing accumulation of snow or ice
- The rate and expected duration of precipitation
- Parking lot and sidewalk conditions
- Weather predictions

We will notify our families about any changes in the school day as quickly as possible.

In the event of a cancellation, parents will be notified through SchoolStatus, the WSISD website and social media channels, and local TV and radio stations.
