On Friday, Nov. 8, more than 60 high schoolers from North Lakes Academy in Forest Lake visited Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center in Sandstone as part of the Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener celebration. During their visit, students rotated through five stations focused on all things deer, including learning about animal tracking, bow hunting, chronic wasting disease and animal surveys. Students also got a chance to see a demonstration of DNR’s K-9 dogs at work to help detect fish and wildlife violations.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County SWAT, and Lakeview EMS responded to a domestic incident at approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at a residence in the 200 block of Wildwood Road, Willernie. According to the WCSO, a male at the residence was reportedly under the influence of controlled substances, acting erratic, and armed with knives.

The Marine Community Library will be hosting a Halloween Boo Bash from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. There will be treats, spooky hand stamps, stick-on scary eyes, costumed hots and photo opportunities for visitors.

Looking for something to do this weekend? The Rivertown Art Festival will be Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 at Lowell Park in Stillwater. This year, the festival will feature over 190 artists.

The Rivertown Art Festival will once again take over Lowell Park Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 6. The festival is one of the bigger art festivals in the Midwest.
