Classical Fighting Arts Authentic Karate Seminars.
How have we managed to hold karate seminars in the US, Japan, Okinawa, the U.K., and elsewhere since 2006. Week long seminars featuring the very best Japanese and Okinawan instructors in dojo ranging from the Okinawa Prefectural Budokan in Japan to the Bishop Abbey Olympic Training Center in the UK.
Seminars that encourage direct contact with the teachers in the dojo and while socializing, as well as a free flow of information through question-and-answer sessions,.
The answer is below. WE HAVE DEDICATED FRIEND
OUR EXPERIENCE WITH MEIJIN KARATE UNIFORMS AND BELTS.
Because we have been around for so long, people often ask us what brand of karate uniforms we use for our pwn training. Before we answer, you always tell them that we have a very close relationship with one manufacturer, have worked with them for years, and that they have often consulted us as far as design and quality are concerned. After giving that frank disclosure out our relationship, we tell them we only use Meijin.
Over the years we have used every type of uniform imaginable including all the top brands. In fact we have been the exclusive national distributor for several of the most famous Japanese manufacturers, and while their products are very good, none of them have the all unique qualities found in Meijin.
Please watch the short presentation below, it’s brief but interesting.

Even monkeys sometimes fall from trees.
In 2016, the Okinawan Prefectural Government commissioned Dragon Associates Inc to design, produce and publish the definitive work on the history of karate (“Okinawa: Birthplace of Karate“) to commemorate the opening of the Okinawa Karate Kaikan complex the following year.
Dragon Associates Inc. and Ikemiya Shokai Ltd. (Dragon-Ikemiya LV.) were chosen by the government to produce the work based on the quality of their previous work, and the recommendations of many senior Okinawan karate instructors. The private edition of the book was a great success, and the second public hardback edition sold out in just a few weeks.
When I spoke to one of the production team about the superb quality of the book and its contents, he replied that Dragon Ikemiya JV had done their best but, with genuine modesty, “Even monkeys sometimes fall from trees!” In other words, nothing in this life is 100% guaranteed because even experts sometimes make mistakes just as monkeys occasionally fall from trees. The book is in a class of its own, but as he implied, more information will probably be discovered.
Subsequent to the publication of the book Dragon Ikemiya JV was contacted by Japan Transocean Airlines (a Japan Airlines subordinate company) for permission to use the book’s calligraphy logo on the fuselage of a new plane they had just purchased from Boeing. The video below depicts the delivery ceremony.
Why do we mention this? The same team of artists and embroiderers who carried out the translations for the products above will be the ones who translate and embroider your new Meijin uniform for FREE!

We would like to recommend that you visit a new karate website, which is actually an updated site belonging to Dragon Associates Inc., a company dedicated to traditional karate since its foundation in 1968.
We know Dragon Associates for the quality of their products, their reasonable prices, and their excellent service. We make no bones about it. We work only with them for karate uniforms, belts, and embroidery and recommend them unreservedly, as the very best supplier of karate materials.
The new site is unusual because it does not offer sales pitches full of outrageous promises, but solid information and advice. After all, this was the team that was chosen by the Prefectural Government of Okinawa to produce and publish “Okinawa: Birthplace of Karate” the official government publication that was released in 2017 to celebrate the opening of the $60,000,000 Karate Kaikan complex, in Okinawa, Japan.
Apart from being attractive, it offers really useful information in unique ways.
We know Dragon for the quality of the Japanese embroidery that they sew onto their Meijin uniforms for FREE if you buy a new one.

CFA Karate Training in Okinawa —They keep coming back!
A comment on one of our recent posts reminded me of just how many people train in Okinawa with us more than once. In fact, the people mentioned in the post had attended 8 of our Okinawan seminars, and I understand is planning to come again next year.
I believe this is because we have the very best karate teachers and 10 years of experience in organizing these prestigious events. We also realize that every minute of every hour we spend in Okinawa should be as enjoyable as possible and so we also organize social events, karate-related trips and formal events with the senior teachers that often become very informal by the end of the evening.
The Okinawan people are very hospitable, very kind, and appreciate our members taking an interest in the culture. Therefore, we have included a clip with this post of a group are very talented Okinawan musicians from the Okinawa Kenjinkai in California who performed for us at a karate event we organized some time ago. The name of the song is “Mensore” which means in the Okinawan language “Welcome” and in the chorus, they sing “Ichiriba Chode” which means, when we meet and speak, we become brothers and sisters forever. In our case, you could say that when we meet, talk, and train together, we become brothers and sisters, a fact that I know to be true as I still receive e-mails from members who trained with us back in 2011!
If you would like further information, please check this link https://www.karatekaikan.com/spring-seminars-2021/ or call us at 818 889 3856. We have two events next year and lower which we are just advertising now.

Don’t Miss our Opening Ceremony, Seminars and gradings at the Shin Tenchi Dojo in 2023.
We don’t have a completion date yet but construction of this amazing dojo starts on December 3rd next and will be completed in 2023. It’s a very big project involving the 5,000 sq. ft. dojo itself which will stand in its own 10-acre private park. I can promise you that the finished results will be amazing.
Our past three events have been supported by the Okinawan Prefectural Government through their Uchina (Okinawa) Ambassador Support Program because two of the steering committee for these events are Uchina Minkan Taishi (沖縄民間大使) or Okinawan Civil Ambassadors. This means that we get only the very best, government-recognized instructors teaching our seminars.
Additionally, events are supervised by the Karate Do Kenkyukai Public Educational Foundation. The Kenkyukai is a tax-exempt, 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization that, with the participation of the Okinawan Prefectural Government brings to our events a level of quality and authenticity that cannot be matched.
Join us next year at the new home of authentic Okinawan Goju Ryu in North America for our opening event, seminars, and gradings. Our events are open to enthusiasts of all grades, styles, and affiliations regardless of experience.
Join us for a different training experience. As one student remarked: “you guys train together, eat together, and party together!” And, he meant it!
For the latest information go to www.karatekaikan.com website and check the “Events” section. Updates will be posted there regularly.

Who are we?
A group of individuals and organizations dedicated to the promotion of authentic Karate. This includes the Karate-Do Kenkyukai Public Educational Foundation. This is a tax-exempt 501 (3) (C) Non-Profit Organization, based in California.
Dragon Books. Our authors include names as notable as Morio Higaonna Sensei and Hirokazu Kanazawa Sensei. This same group, with Ikemiya Shokai in Naha, Okinawa, produced and published “Okinawa Birthplace of Karate” at the request of the Okinawan Prefectural Government to mark the opening of the Karate Kaikan complex in Okinawa. It is interesting to note that the cover logo of this book is now being used as part of the livery on the fuselages of Japan Transocean Air jetliners.
Tsunami Productions, in a joint venture with Jones Intercable TV, (now Time Warner TV) and Dragon Associates Inc, produced over 40 broadcast quality instructional programs on authentic karate. Higaonna Sensei is featured in 16 of them.
As you can see, a lot of karate talent is involved, and also a great deal of production and management expertise. All have strong karate connections that stretch back to the 1950s.

Japan Transocean Air is owned by Japan Airlines and The Okinawan Prefectural Government. Yes, they did ask to use our logo which looks amazing at night as planes land, and the logo is lit by the vertical stabilizer lights!
Goju Ryu Kata 1939
So what could be so new about this website? It’s full of legitimate information about karate, not just exaggerated claims and sales pitches. For example, if you want to order really beautiful FREE Japanese embroidery on your beautiful new Meiji uniform, if you go to the embroidery section for Goju Ru for example. You will learn how, why and when Chojun Miyagi Sensei called his style Goju Ryu. You will also understand what the characters actually mean and the different Japanese text styles (fonts) you can choose from for your FREE, yes really free embroidery on your new uniform. We will even translate your name in Japanese for fifteen dollars more and sew it onto the lower lapel of your new uniform.
Do we know what we are talking about, you may ask! Well, apart from being in this business for more than fifty years and publishing dozens of books on the subject, we also asked students of Chosen Miyagi Sensei (there a still a few living) just to make sure we were 100% correct.
Still not sure. Look at the short clip on our website of a student of Chojun Miyagi performing Goju Ryu kata in 1939. How did we learn about this professionally made documentary? We were told about it by Morio Higaonna Sensei and Shuichi Arakaki Sensei (one of the few surviving, genuine students of Miyagi Sensei!)
