I'm looking forward to applying for and getting the CDB (Canada Disability Benefit) when a party that supports the CDB gets elected after the current federal election campaign.

I have no idea how I got the Disability Tax Credit which is required - despite our advocacy as a community. The CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) just gave it to me for whatever reason, presumably after many tax filings of ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) income. I even called the CRA to ask - the staffers had no idea either!

The $200 being offered is woefully inadequate for my life (it's only my grocery budget), but adding to the numbers of people who sign up will help build the case for keeping the benefit and for a much needed income increase. I'd love it to be $1,000 or $2,000.

So re the discussion around Mark Carney, I hope we can see now that the government exists to maintain capitalism.

I am not personally concerned as such around the tax havens linked to the green funds at Brookfield where Mark Carney was head of.

Because elected representatives are paid well, they are made rich ... Due to the amount of the work they have to do and due to the purpose of the government.

The legal structure of the Brookfield funds is complex and includes many jurisdictions. However, experts say their activities in Bermuda raise questions about Mark Carney's approach to fiscal policy in Canada.

I don't know if I believe in Allah anymore, but the time tested rules in the Quran are awesome and I like living by them. Islam is my culture and framework for living.

Here are the main Ramadan verses:

"Believers, God commanded fasting for you just as he commanded it for those who came before you so that you might be mindful of God.

Fast for a specific number of days, and if someone is sick or traveling, then alternate days. For those who can afford a redemption should feed a poor person. If someone voluntarily does good, it is goodness for him. Fasting is good for you, if you only knew.

The month of Ramadan is when the Qur’an was revealed, giving guidance to humanity, and clear messages of guidance and a standard for distinguishing right from wrong. Whoever lives to see this month should fast. Whoever is sick or traveling should fast on alternate days. God wants it to be easy for you, not hard, so you can complete the days you missed. So praise God for his guidance to you, and give thanks.

S*x with your wives is permitted on the night of a fast. They are clothing to you and you to them. God knows that you used to betray yourselves, so He turned to you and forgave you. So now, have s*x with them, and seek what God has ordained for you. (You may) eat and drink until you can distinguish a white thread from a black one in the dawn, then complete the fast until night. Do not have s*x with them while you are secluded in the places of worship. These are God’s boundaries. So don’t go near them. This is how God shows people His messages so that they would be mindful of Him." (Quran 2:183-185, 187)

So the thing about change for us Autistics people is that disliking it is a bit of an understatement.

Change in routine can mess us up, even sometimes if we know it is happening. So annoying!

So it is not simply that we dislike change. We have a very hard time handling it.

So with the Ontario election results, I did not get the doubling of ODSP that I absolutely need to thrive. Instead Ontario gets a capitalism-oriented plan, which isn't too surprising given that Doug Ford is a businessman.

However, capitalism is inherently at the expense of non profitable people such as Disabled people and the people it has always exploited: Black and Indigenous people.

This whole thing displays just how conservative even on a minimum level enslaver settler colonizers have to be in order to keep "their" stolen lands, stolen people and exploited international money (not paying workers enough, poor working conditions, etc).

We must keep fighting for our humanity.
