Fayette community members can now provide their own special delivery to families by dropping off diapers at the Fayette Police Department or Fayette City Hall as the local police department has started a continuous diaper drive to benefit those in need. www.fayettecountynewspapers.com

For 52 years, the Britt family has owned the Elgin State Bank. For 26 of those years, Catherine “Lolly” Britt assisted her beloved husband and former bank president Verlon (Ernie). After Ernie’s untimely death, she took on the responsibilities and has served the Elgin community for 26 more years.

As reported in The Union in November 2024, the decision was made to sell the local bank to the Farmers Savings Bank of Colesburg. With the transaction being finalized in the coming weeks, Lolly will be retiring.
