The Decorah IowaWORKS Center, in partnership with Fayette County Economic Development and West Union Main Street Chamber, is hosting a "One-Stop Job Shop" drive-thru job fair from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday), in the parking lot at Lilac Plaza in West Union.
The One-Stop Job Shop offers a safe, efficient, and convenient way for job seekers to explore employment opportunities from the comfort of their vehicles.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about job openings across various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and more, all without leaving their cars.
While there is no formal direction participants are asked to enter, they are encouraged to enter at Central Avenue, off Highway 150, and exit just before Quillins and back onto Highway 150.

Readers will discover a new publication in their mailboxes and at the newsstands Wednesday, Nov. 20, as the Ossian Bee and Union Echo Leader are being combined into “The Union,” with a subheading of "Serving Northern Fayette and Southern Winneshiek Counties." The newspaper office will remain at the corner of East Main and North Vine streets in West Union.

Among the local communities with set Halloween activity hours are the following.

Arlington
Trick or treating from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Stop at the Arlington Event Center to pick up a goodie bag and register for the witches’ call.

Clermont
The Clermont Community Club and West Clermont Lutheran Church are hosting a Trunk or Treat from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, at West Clermont Lutheran Church. In addition, citywide trick or treating will be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31.

Fayette
Door-to-door trick or treating in the community will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Residents who wish to participate in handing out treats, are asked to turn on their porch lights.

Hawkeye
Trick-or-Treat fun for the kids from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at American Legion Hall. Costumes are encouraged. The event includes children’s activities, a Halloween coloring contest, and kid-friendly refreshments.

West Union
West Union’s traditional door-to-door trick or treating will be held from 5-7:30 p-m. Thursday. Residents who wish to participate in handing out treats, are asked to turn on their porch lights.

Hudson Lourenço-Feld, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, will close out the 2024 Union Sunday School Concert Series in Clermont Sunday. The Oct. 27 concert is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
