The outage affecting Meta’s platforms worldwide has been resolved after a major disruption.

The outage impacted the app and website versions of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads.

Around 10:30 a.m. ET, more than 600,000 Facebook users reported issues accessing their accounts, according to "Downdetector", which monitors online outages. Over 95,000 users experienced similar issues with Instagram at that time.

About an hour and a half later, the problems were resolved.

Email Scams take on all shapes and forms. Here is a NetFlex scams to have people click on the link for 90 days free. Be Aware!
If it sounds to good, it's probably a scam.
This technique is called phishing, and it’s a way hackers con you into providing your personal information or account data. Once your info is obtained, hackers create new user credentials.

Here are the top things to look for in the email.
1. Legit companies don’t request your sensitive information via email
2. Legit companies usually call you by your name
3. Legit companies don’t force you to their website
4. Legit company links match legitimate URLs
5. Legit companies have domain emails

Best thing to do is delete the email then contact the business and ask about what the email is referring to, most cases they don't know what you're talking about. Or they are aware of the scam already.

Hurricane Preparation Checklist To Protect Your Technology
Secure building windows and doors;
Move electronics off the ground, to protect from flooding;
Shut down servers/computers and unplug the power cords;
Unplug Ethernet cables from computers or docking stations;
Power off printers or any other network devices;
Cover with plastic bags or wrap electronics in plastic.
Most important verify your data is backed up in the cloud or off-site!

Fake Windows Updates (Hidden Ransomware)

Hackers have been increasingly sending emails that instruct readers to install urgent Windows OS updates. The emails trick readers into installing the “latest” Windows updates, which are actually ransomware ‘.exe’ files in disguise.

The ransomware contained in these emails is known as “Cyborg”. It encrypts all of your files and programs and demands a ransom payment to un-encrypt the files.

Unfortunately, many email service providers and basic antivirus software aren’t able to detect and block these emails.
This is where you can have ONT install antivirus that provides proper internet security, protecting you from dangerous hackers.
