When did the roadhouse blues begin? It happened when Muddy Waters plugged his guitar into an amplifier back in the 1940's. His musical collaboration with Willie Dixon then inspired a young generation of primarily British artists including Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Rory Gallagher, Alvin Lee, and Jeff Beck. These artist in turn inspired Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Thorogood, Gary Moore, Walter Trout, Jeff Healey and contemporary artists like Joe Bonamassa and Eric Gales. Join me today for some modern roadhouse blues featuring new music from Jeff Pitchell, Chris Bad News Barnes, Zachary Wayne and some classics from Johnny Winters, The Doors, and ZZ Top.
