The West Chicago Voice to Publish Weekly on Thursdays

After carefully considering readership feedback and expert advice, The West Chicago Voice is excited to announce that we will transition to a once-weekly publication schedule. Starting next week (August 15) we will publish every Thursday, mirroring the heritage/ tradition of the West Chicago Press.

This change aims to provide our readers with a more consistent and reliable source of local news and information. By releasing our paper on Thursdays, we hope to give you ample time to plan your weekends around the exciting events and happenings in our community. Additionally, it will allow you to prepare for the week ahead and reflect on the news events of the past week.

While we are committed to this weekly schedule, rest assured that if any highly important news arises, we will break with this publication schedule to ensure you receive timely updates. Our goal is to keep you informed and connected to the latest developments in West Chicago.

We believe this adjustment will enhance your reading experience and keep you better informed about what’s going on in our community.

⚠️ per the City of West Chicago: A precautionary boil order has been issued as of Tuesday, July 23, for homes along Forest Avenue from Joliet Street to Bishop Street following a water main break near Gary Elementary School on Monday, July 22. Contractors are currently making repairs.

This order will remain in effect until at least Wednesday, July 24. Residents in the affected area have been notified and will receive further updates once the boil order is lifted.

During this period, users of affected public water supplies should follow the precautions outlined on the City's website to prevent the consumption of potentially contaminated water.
