The first build is always such a nail biter. Waiting on last bit of parts. Should be able to fire up and check voltages tomorrow if shipment arrives. Tube order arrives Friday so sometime then we get an official play test.

The inspiration from our latest amplifier came from spending time in countless vintage amplifiers over the last year. We had many mods on our plate and decided to build an amplifier with a classic structure, but with all our modern twists, features and ideas.

New amp design. Amplifier engineering is fun in many aspects. You wouldn’t think something like backlighting with an LED would take so much thought, but to get a good light and to make something that has ease when assembling is very important. Not many builders put this much effort and thought into things such as this.

We couldn’t make a custom chassis for this because there’s not a current setup to be able to bend these angled fronts, so I had to buy a premade fender chassis. Obviously none of the controls line up so this proto we will have to modify all the holes. This is steel which I don’t like the weight. Future runs will be aluminum.

Years have gone by. The Blythe Engineering name has been laying dormant. In that time, not only have I been designing, inventing, and contemplating I have been managing workflow and project completion for a number of some very well known brands through another well known brand/OEM manufacturer. I am now in a position in life (with business being much more structured and flowing as well as our children being a bit older) to be able to offer my designs once again. With hopes to keep my mind sharp, life calm, relationships personal, holding true to my values and having them spill over into all I do and all I interact with, my services and builds will be limited to small numbers. Looking forward to being able to introduce my latest design. Martyr
