"This is what we are up against" .as my Dad would say.

Just went in the drive thru at Taco Bell 🌮 🔔 and I gave the lady my $50. She grabs the money and lays it on the counter and takes the marker and marks it to see if the money is real or fake.... She promptly hands it back to me and says “Sir I cannot accept this money it is counterfeit, you see the dark line that means it counterfeit!” So I tell her wow this money is straight from the bank and she hands it back to me so I hand her another $50 bill she lays it on the counter marks it. Yep this one is counterfeit too. So I’m like WOW!!! Both of my $50’s are fake!?!!!? So then at this point I had one important question... Lady are you using a sharpie!?!? 🤦🏽‍♂️She takes a loooooooooong look at the marker .... Yes sir I am 😑

Have you checked your bees lately?
On nice sunny warm days put some dried pollen sub out for them. And clear out the dead!! Get as far back as you can with whatever stick or tool you have.
Lee treated a half dose of Oxalic Acid v***r today too. It Won't hurt.
We're about halfway there .

Warm enough for bees to be out today, how is everyone doing so far??

Make oxalic acid v***r part of your beekeeping routine. Use rhubarb leaves between brood boxes during the summer months. (We have done this successfully for years ).
Yes varroa is a given, but it needs kept on top of.
You can't miss a treatment or you'll end up back at square 1.
Every 4 days, once you start treating with oxalic acid v***r.
Don't wait 6 or 7!!! Every 4. !! And don't just do 1 percent, get them all.
Make it part of your beekeeping routine.
This article is a bit exaggerated. It makes it sound like a constant battle, and we're losing.
If you're not treating properly you will lose, it's just a routine part of beekeeping.
Happy Beekeeping.

Beekeeper Dawn Beck says despite the challenges, caring for her hives is full of "bucolic" benefits.

How we became a business.

Living in a valley full of orchards, in a state like Washington, one would think there would be a myriad of Bee supply stores,

last year we ran out of frames, we needed them desperately, jumped in the car, drove all over town looking for frames. ended up throwing a deep box on the hive and ordering from Amazon. was going to take a week. we ended up with a hell of a mess. combed out and full of honey, a maze in itself. took careful figuring out how to get the box off without killing thousands of bees underneath.

we managed that. great photo op too.

then sat one day on the back deck, talking , we agreed we needed a Bee supply in town.
