Thanks so much to everybody who came out to the concert last Saturday, and have continued to make this thing a success. And wow, thanks so much to Soma (from Yakima) for filling in for Star Anna last minute. Many thanks to all the bands who played, and shared their incredible talents with us.

These all ages concerts would not be possible without all our great volunteers. I wanted to send a special thank you to James, Ciana, Sarah, Rob, Nat and Katja. I (and Wenatchee) appreciate you soo much.

And of course, many thanks to Andy Martin Peart for not only running sound, but taking the time to bring his PA to the hall for these shows. Not the funnest thing to be transporting/setting up/taking down.

Star Anna had to cancel due to illness, but we have a band from Yakima called Soma filling in! And they keep with my mission of giving younger bands a space to play!

Soo incredibly excited to bring Star Anna to Wenatchee on Saturday December 7th at the Wenatchee Odd Fellows Prosperity Lodge #301! Check out her recent appearance on Band in Seattle below! AND, if that weren’t enough, Kathy Moore will be playing guitar in Star’s band for this show. Kathy is an incredible musician. You may have seen her in Krist Novoselic’s (of Nirvana) band playing guitar when they played Wenatchee this past summer.

Had a great time shopping and talking records with everyone at The Lake City Record Show today! Always reinvigorating to go to a record show and be around people who love records as much as I do. Makes me excited for the next Apple Valley Vinyl Record Expo on May 17th 2025. The drive today wasn’t half bad either!

One of the things I’m most excited about for the next concert (Saturday December 7th), is seeing these kids play their first show! Browndy Blooms is a group of 10-13 year olds, from Wenatchee/Leavenworth. I put a call out looking for younger musicians interested in forming a band, and was able to put their parents in contact with each other. And after all their hard work, here they are! They play first, a very short set (maybe 3-4 songs), so don’t be late!

If you know of any other younger musicians looking to start a band with others, let me know! Let’s get more kids playing music together!

Wenatchee! Come get yourself some vinyl records!

Thursday October 31st-Saturday November 2nd at the IOOF hall in Wenatchee. One of our record vendors is having a sale, setting up at least three tables of vinyl. He’ll also be selling a bunch of tapes, CDs and some audio equipment along with a ton of other things filling up the ground floor of the hall. This is not an Apple Valley Vinyl Record Expo event, but I am getting the word out for the vendor.

Sale starts at 9AM each day. Open until at least 3pm. Enter the building through the back door/rear entrance of the building.

IOOF hall is located at 601 N Chelan Ave in Wenatchee.

Hey Wenatchee, Peter Sumic (singer/guitar player/songwriter) behind the incredible Seattle band (Forest Ray) will be playing today (Sunday) at Wenatchee Valley Brewing from 5-7pm. Free, all ages. He’s always got a ton of vinyl with him. For fans of a psych laid back Beatles.

I’m super excited for this one. Star Anna is fresh off her appearance on the television show Band in Seattle (link in the comments), and I have wanted to bring her to Wenatchee for awhile.

Browndy Blooms is a group of 10-13 year olds from the Wenatchee area, playing their first show. They open the show, and are playing a very short set, so show up early!

Ron and Sarah make incredibly beautiful music together as Deep Green Sea. Harmonies for days.

Deluxe Marble Race brings the heavy, and are quickly getting their name out there in WA. Great younger band.

It’s hard to express how incredible Saturday night’s show was. The turnout was massive and the bands all played amazing sets. So many thanks to Datura, Blunt Skulls and Icarus. But THANK You Wenatchee for showing up in droves! It reminded me of the number of people we used to get to shows there 20 plus years ago, and that makes me incredibly happy and with a renewed energy to keep this thing going.

And it wouldn’t be possible without all the help from all our awesome volunteers! We have roughly 8-10 volunteers per show performing various tasks, and without them, none of this would be possible. I am so very grateful everybody’s help. If you would like to volunteer at a future show, reach out via DM. Teenagers also welcome to volunteer, as I’m happy to teach people all the aspects of how these shows come together and how they can pitch in to build this all ages scene.

And of course, if you know if any middle/high school aged kids looking to play a show, please have them/their parents reach out. That is the whole reason we are doing what we are doing.

Hey Wenatchee, got any plans for Sunday Oct 6th? A great band called Forest Ray is wrapping up their US tour tomorrow (Sunday), and will be playing a stripped down solo show at Wenatchee Valley Brewing. If you dig laid back psych rock, you’ll love em. It might be listed as Peter Sumic on advertising for the show. He’s put out a bunch of the bands releases on vinyl, and is a die hard analog recording guy. He plays from 5-7PM. I think it’s free, and I bet he’ll have a bunch of their vinyl available. The brewery is all ages and kid friendly. I’m excited, I’ve wanted to catch a solo or band set for years. Cheers!
