Island Pond, Vermont
Steeple in the Hills ( #2 in the series)

We started this series of Steeples in the Hills last week and will continue every Thursday. I have published this image before, but it so illustrates this new series that I couldn't help publishing it again. It also happens to be one of my all time favorites. I was at this site about 10 days previous to the photograph and noted the location, but the water was not smooth and the color not peak. I returned on the day this was taken completely absorbed in a different subject and just happened to notice the calm water on Island Pond. I went immediately to the previous location and snapped this image. So what are the ingredients of taking this image? I rate it 25% scouting to find the location and 75% luck to show up at the proper time. I will take luck over skill anytime. Hope you enjoy (even if seen previously) and look for new Steeple in the Hills images each Thursday. Please feel free to share.
