Brave New Radio’s next hero is Phylicia Rashad.

Phylicia, known for her role as Clair Huxtable, on The Cosby Show and later as Ruth Lucas, on Cosby, was dubbed “The Mother of the Black Community” at the NAACP Image Awards in 2010. In 2004, she became the first black actress to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. After years on Broadway and tv shows, she’s currently Dean of Howard University’s Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts.

We thank Phylicia Rashad for shining a light and paving a path for women all around the world. Join us all month as we celebrate Women’s History Month heroes!
