Old Memories Made New!
8 Leap Years Ago as of 2/29/2020
DATELINE FEBRUARY 29, 1988: La Penna's Envisioned Video records our first paid wedding video on a Monday night! That was 8 Leap Years ago. The couple was David and Linda Gable. I was still deejaying and like everyone else in those days my daughters were learning to be 'videographers' as I entertained. After months of practicing and giving away the footage we went pro! See the now sepia toned faded (32 years old) VHS footage below. If you have valuable memories still on tape we can convert them to digital media for you. The older they get the more they will fade.
There's nothing like a good Beef and Beer event to lift the spirits! We recorded such a fundraiser at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Andorra of April 6th and the band played on! To learn more about this event please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/2280956901955603/
A few weeks ago we visited the Filomena Cucina Italiana, Blackwood for a very Fortuna-nt event. Who needs lots of space? The Just In Time Band didn't! The dancers didn't! And Maria celebrated the big 5-0 in style!
A Vintage Wedding Wire Review Slideshow
It would take some time to put together a new slideshow of the reviews received since this one was created several years back now. One element that still stands true is all the stars! ********************
The Number One Romantic Dip
Over the fall many of you voted for the Most Romantic Dip. Since the winning picture was taken on New Years Eve in 2004 I waited until this week to announce it. It's really no surprise. Brian and Nicole hired us rather late in the game but everything turned out wonderfully for all of us.
The temperature was in the sixties when this frame of video was taken. It was time for me to create a new magazine ad and I needed some fresh new pictures when this great opportunity came along. Thank goodness my wife came along so that she could double-park our van while I jumped out to get this shot.
I still remember guests roaming around the outdoor patio at The Radnor Hotel since it was so nice outside. This year I'll be at HOTEL DU PONT where the forecast isn't so favorable.
Beautiful Snowy Romance
SOMETIMES the runner-up is still a champion. Amy and Steve's dip in the falling snow was the second best vote-getter among our Best Dips stills. Had you seen the actual video showing the falling snow, included below, it may have been the winner.
Steve and Amy planned their wedding for February 11, 2006 hoping for some snow. The problem was that winter 2005/2006 had been very mild and there was no snowfall at all until their wedding day when we got 13 inches! Their wedding was the very last one to take place in the old sanctuary at historic St. David's Church. It was a late afternoon ceremony. Rather than stained glass this church had a large area of clear glass behind the altar. The snow started to fall about halfway through the ceremony and it looked gorgeous from the pews.
Afterwards we went outside where my bright video light enabled us to get amazing pictures and video. I remember filming this couple's conversation in the limo where the groom almost giddily said, "We hoped for snow and we got it!" After a wonderful party we all made our way hope. I remember pulling out of the Radnor Valley Country Club and getting behind a snow plow that I followed almost all the way home. What a day and night!
THE DIP PARADE!
NEXT WEEK, along with a background story for each, I will announce the top two vote getters in our BEST DIP competition. A wedding day dip may be staged or spontaneous, graceful or a bit clumsy. The dips in this short video do have on thing in common. The couples were having fun!
Envisioned Video: A Families Affair
One of my most favorite happenings is when we get to visit a family for the second or third time as we record the wedding of another family member. This video shows some of the siblings and even parents for whom we have worked. Often our services are the one constant at each wedding. We'll be adding to our list later this year and in 2018.
Nirvan's Birthday Sneak Preview!
Kendra and Justin's Sneak Preview
Kendra and Justin's winter wedding had a lot of "spring" in it. The sun was out as they said their vows at The Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in KOP and the warmth continued through most of the photo session. We all spent the rainy night partying at The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia King of Prussia to the sounds of Best of Both Worlds Entertainment. My associate Damon and I had the pleasure of working with Sarah and Elizabeth from Ashley Errington Photography. If you enjoy this sneak preview please consider rewarding us with a PAGE LIKE!
