As a digital photo manager, I hear a lot of heartbreaking stories of people losing their photos. Stories like:

🥹 A newlywed who used his iPhone in a hot tub on his honeymoon. The moisture fried the phone, and that's when he found out his phone had stopped syncing to iCloud several months prior. Months of his photos were gone forever, including his wedding and honeymoon snapshots.

🥹 A mom who didn't realize that when she deletes photos from her iPhone, it also deletes them from her iCloud. She deleted hundreds of her son's baby photos from her phone to save storage space and lost them forever.

🥹 A woman who had decades of her old printed photos digitized, but didn't "trust the cloud" so kept them on an external hard drive in her home. Her plan was to grab it on the way out of the house if she ever had a fire, but her home burned down while she was on vacation. The hard drive melted and all of her digital photos (and the printed copies too) are now gone.

Sorry to bum you out, but the 🎉 good news 🎉 is you can make sure this never happens to you by backing up your photo collection on a regular basis!

The biggest reason people don't back up is they don't know where to start or how to do it. That's why I've made it my mission in life to give you the info you need to protect your photos and digital memories!

What a fun awesome day at the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2024! I had so many great conversations with people about organizing and preserving photos, videos, and family memories. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and had fun in our Throwback Selfie Station!

As a solo business owner, I was so grateful to my daughter Emma for missing a day of college classes to help me and be my "booth buddy." She did such a great job that by the end of the day I had promoted her from "Unpaid Intern" to "Manager." (Still unpaid though, sorry girlie!) 😂

I was struck by a universal truth one day while organizing a client’s 40 years of photos and videos…You see, at the start of every project, the client will say some version of “I’m sorry, this is such a mess!” Or “I’m so embarrassed!” I usually laugh and reassure them that everyone feels this way. But then as I was sorting photos and prepping them for scanning…👉 We tend to take photos of only our happy moments! 👈Big joyful moments like weddings and births, but also ordinary everyday ones too! A gorgeous view, a pretty flower, or a funny moment with our kids. Sure, there are also screenshots and recipes and things we need to save, but for the most part our photos are a visual record of our happy moments. So if that’s true, can you really have “too many” photos? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Maybe you just need to delete some that are repetitive or organize them better so you can find them easily, but those are problems that can be solved. I’m now encouraging my clients to shift their mindset and to stop beating themselves up for having lots of photos. And I’m not doing this to myself anymore either.If your photos are out of control, celebrate your joyful life! 🙌 Having lots of photos is awesome! 🙌 We can solve the other problems together. #photoorganizing #digitalphotos #genx #icloud #organizing
