Yeprem earned fame especially in the days of the Iranian Constitutional Revolution, when with a small band of men he took the northern Iranian towns of Rasht, Enzeli, Kharzan, and Ghazvin. Later, at the head of an ever-growing number of Armenian and Iranian revolutionaries, he entered Tehran in triumph against the anti-constitutional Iranian forces and was appointed chief of police there.

"Using his own personal resources and connections, Cardashian opened an Armenian Press Bureau in 1918, intended to educate American public opinion and high official circles about the Armenian Question. In his capacity as director of the Press Bureau, Cardashian authored numerous letters and newspaper articles, sending them to hundreds of groups and persons who could play a role in shaping American policy toward Armenia. ...Soon after the creation of the Armenian Press Bureau, Cardashian felt it imperative to form a larger structure around it. That structure eventually became the American Committee for the Independence of Armenia (ACIA), composed of prominent Americans and university-educated Armenian-Americans who worked as volunteers, often lending their names to efforts that Cardashian himself would orchestrate."

"When on May 21 the Turks, moving by train, appeared near Sardarabad, they found before them Armenian soldiers emboldened by the determination to triumph. General Silikian’s forces in those days reached approximately 10,000 men. Those forces were divided into two sections: one under the command of Dro, on the Bash Abaran front, the other under the command of Daniel Beg Piroumian, at Sardarabad. The commander-in-chief was General Silikian; the chief of staff was Colonel Vekilian, who had drawn up the general battle plan…. The entire country, become as one man, one soul, was fighting against its mortal enemy."
