Winter Weather Advisory in effect 9am-6pm today for southern portions of the Power 106.3 listening area, including Clark, Hamlin, and Spink counties. Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. The higher snow totals will be across the southern half of the counties.Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening commute.

We can expect accumulating snow in South Dakota today, with a band of higher amounts, up to 4-5 inches, south of Highway 14 to Interstate 90. Watch for changing road conditions and stay safe out there!

We're 12 days away from Christmas now and there are some GREAT holly, jolly Christmas activities around Watertown. We stopped by Santaland at the Watertown Mall yesterday afternoon and it was amazing! Lots of fun for kids and adults, and fun picture opportunities.

We've had a lot of special guests in studio from the Bramble Park Zoo over the years for ... but I'm not sure we've ever had one quite like this! It was nice to meet Bogota, the Columbia Red Tail boa, who must be at least seven feet long!! Thanks to Angie from the Bramble Park Zoo for stopping by with our new friend, and thanks to Glacial Lakes Veterinary Clinic and Runnings Stores in Watertown for sponsoring Animal Encounters! Stay warm out there! Cold air continues to impact SD and western MN now through Friday. Wind chills could reach -20 (or lower!). Temps like these can be DANGEROUS, so be sure to bundle up and limit outdoor time when temps are at their coldest.

Roads are rough this morning as well, with scattered slippery spots, snow covered areas, and blowing snow across the Power 106.3 listening area. Stay safe!

Watch for dangerous road conditions in the listening area! We're getting reports from emergency services of black ice on Highway 212 from Watertown to Clark with at least one accident. See SD511.com or call 511 for road conditions throughout the winter. Stay safe and drive careful.

Morning, rockers! Mild air moving into the Power 106.3 listening area today, before a cold front swings through causing dropping temps Wednesday. Winds topping out between 40 and 50 mph, which could result in pockets of blowing snow.

Right now, roads are mostly dry around the listening area, with scattered slippery spots and blowing snow between Summit, Sisseton, and Groton. Drive careful and stay warm!
