Established in 1981 by Dean Gaskill, DGA Productions is an award-winning, full service video production company based in Boston. How did DGA come to be?

We were handpicked by Dean Gaskill, who co-founded the company in 1981. He chose each of us to fill specific roles; the goal being that we would excel as individuals — and make up a powerful team together. We pride ourselves on producing consistent, top quality, do-whatever-it-takes work. Think of us as a well-oiled machine — nimble, but exceptional. A History of Excellence

Part of our commitment

to excellence is our history. Dean was an industry visionary and our beloved mentor. But we bought his company not just because we worked well together but we liked each other. If we were to cast our own family we’d choose each other. You’ll just as likely catch us celebrating Thanksgiving together as you would strategizing the shot list for a Patriots story on ESPN. Our Director/DP has been nominated for an Academy Award and has 3 best director Emmy's; our Director of Photography has 6 Emmy's. Over the years, our team has brainstormed with chef Julia Child at her kitchen counter (we shot her PBS series for 7 years), documented an underwater pirate ship for National Geographic and spent 20 years with Chris Kimball at “America’s Test Kitchen” followed by "Milk Street Kitchen." We’ve interviewed patients in a pediatric cancer ward for the Jimmy Fund and directed “Justice,” Harvard University’s seminar series with Michael Sandel. From writing to editing, shooting to producing, we customize each project around a client’s concept and budget, tapping the best talent and state-of-the-art equipment on the market.

Black Bear Cub

Early on in Jan Maliszewski's DGA career, he was almost eaten by a grizzly bear. 30 years later, he got to hug it out with a black bear cub! #fullcircle An incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience for Jan, Aaron Frutman and Dan Holden this week (under conservation professionals’ supervision).
