The Juneteenth committee and I will be sponsoring a Royal Mr. and Miss Juneteenth crowning. This will be the first national crowning geared towards minorities, held in our city. The committee and I talked about those, who we think would be the perfect contestants to be crowned King and Queen for this historic event and you all are nominated.
This event will display the African Kings and Queens who live among our communities. The adult contestants will display leadership for our minors who are learning to embrace their culture and skin tone, giving them the confidence he/she needs.
Best of all, this is a family affair.
You can enter this crowning with your son, daughter, sister, brother, godchild, or friend. How awesome would it be to share the stage with your love one, with the possibility of you all being crowned as Kings or Queens.
The registration for minors are $25.00 and adults are $35.00.
The entry fee will include a Juneteenth Dinner, with a meet and greet.
Early Registration will be $20.00 for minors and $25.00 for adults before June 16, 2018.

Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the former Confederacy of the southern United States. Its name is a portmanteau of "June" and "nineteenth", the date of its celebration.[1][2] Juneteenth is recognized as a state holiday or special day of observance in 45 states.[3]
