When I was in Grammer school I started playing drums in a band all around Irvington NJ , Catholic schools always paid good ,private parties,and myDad had a bar in West Orange ,he hired us to play private parties in the downstairs room we always got paid good and by the time I was 13 I saved up enough money to buy this Slingerland Silver Sparkle drum set ,in this picture I'm playing at Irvington High School doing Zep , Alice Cooper,Ted Nugent and other Rock covers I did over 1500 shows with this kit until the mid 80s when I got my Chrome Slingerland kit ,the Silver Sparkle kit was in the Studio for years until I sold it in the early 90s it was a great sounding kit and was eventually a 10 piece kit as I added more drums to it through the years ,once when I was 13 a band cancelled on my Dad on a Saturday night so he called my mom and said to get the kids together and come play so I called Joe Ricadello,and Tony Losito our band was named EMANON WE PACKED UP OUR GEAR my mom drove us in the old station wagon to the bar in West Orange ,it was packed and we played Beatles,Stones,Rod Stewart,and other Rock songs it was a great experience, eventually I played more clubs in the area with other bands ,Dodds,Cryans,Rutgers Frat house parties,Lily Marliens,Smiles ,Village Sq**rt Inn,several High schools the Coronet in Irvington ,Vic's Place, Archbishop Walsh High,and many more always keeping busy making money playing drums rven underage I was only 15 ,by the time I was 18 I was playing 2 to 3 gig a week all over NJ then in theearly 1980s I was playing steady sometimes 3 to 4 nights a week mostly covers and started doing originals with other bands as things changed with drinking age up to 21 eventually going on tour around the country doing over 200 shows a year in and out of bands in the 90s sometimes doing a early show with one band and a late show at a different club with another in the same night and I still do that now I did 3 double headers this year and still do over 100 dhows a year ,covid stopprd me for a year and half but i still played outdoor gigs and I've been playing 2 to 3 gigs a week since ,it's great to be busy playing drums IV played on 12 full length lps and many demos , complications and currently recording my own songs due to be finished by the end of the year I'm releasing them one done at a time only singles I hope you all take a listen when their done .
