County Collector of Revenue Doug Trentmann said misinformation on social media recently caused a frenzy over the deadline date to apply for the tax freeze.

Franklin County seniors should be able to start applying for a property tax freeze March 1. The deadline to apply for the freeze will be June 30, county officials confirmed.

BREAKING NEWS: Emergency crews respond to a shooting that occurred Wednesday at approximately 7:21 p.m. outside The Sand Bar. One person was injured in the incident.

BREAKING NEWS: Emergency services respond to a vehicle that drove through the doors on the south side of Walmart, located at 1701 A Roy Drive, on Wednesday after hitting a pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
