Amazing FREE summer camp for aspiring writers!

Youth Summer Camp 𝑜𝓅𝑒𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔! As many of you know most of our Youth Summer Camps are full to capacity, but we still have openings in our Powers of Poetry Camp for rising 6th to 12th graders!

Students enrolled in the camp will engage in writing, reading, and speaking components to create original poems, discuss poetry, and practice public speaking. The camp aims to enhance creative writing skills, cultural awareness, relationships, and career opportunities through hands-on poetry activities, led by Phillip Shabazz.

As a poet, author and teaching artist, Phillip Shabazz has built an outstanding, extensive and respected career. His work, which explores issues of community and culture in America, has been acclaimed by the media, critics and audiences across North Carolina.

FREE to Beaufort County residents.
Rising 6th to 12th graders are encouraged to enroll.
July 29 - August 2, 2024 from 8am until 5pm.
Meals provided.

Pam Pack Writer’s’ Group engaged in an immersive creative experience at Greenville Museum of Art today. They learned the history of the museum, its collections, and engaged with modern art pieces included in the East Carolina University Visual Arts Master of Fine Arts exhibit. The students also attended a writing workshop at the museum that included art pieces and poetry to inspire aphorisms. It was a WONDERFUL imaginative day. 🖼️ ✍️
