Zarea Boyde, a youth educator with DC SCORES, shares a powerful poem that reflects the stark reality of gun violence in DC. A heartbreaking personal loss inspired her to write this piece, which confronts a painful truth: "I just wanna live in a world where I feel safe enough to have my babies / but glocks ain't got no safeties / and bullets ain't got any names / and these people got really poor aim / you should be ashamed." While Zarea's poem exposes deep scars left by gun violence, she also uses her voice to call us to heal, reflect, and take action.
