Affiliates of UIP Companies Inc. and Churchill Living have purchased a 300-unit, 19-story tower in Arlington, VA, with plans to implement a $9 million renovation.

WPC, the DC area's tenth largest developer, has completed its first two acquisitions of existing multifamily properties: The Mark in Alexandria, VA, and four older apartment communities near the University of Maryland-College Park.

The recent string of deals includes a three-property portfolio in College Park that WPC plans to extensively renovate.
