Youngest team in the league at 23.8 years old.

Aside from Khris Middleton, everyone in the rotation is 27 or younger, with 10 of 17 players drafted in just the last three seasons.

And the flashes are already loud.

Catch-and-shoot numbers don’t lie:
🔸 Tre Johnson: 41.2%
🔸 Kyshawn George: 45.5%
🔸 Bub Carrington: 42.2%

That kind of shooting efficiency usually shows up after structure. D.C. is doing it without a true point guard.

Which is the scary part.

Because once Trae Young actually suits up and starts bending defenses?

Those clean looks turn into open gym reps. Spacing sharpens. Confidence rises. Roles make sense.

The league might still see the Wizards as a “future problem.”

But the timeline is moving faster than people think 🔥

Justin Champagnie is making a real case to stay in Washington.

The Washington Wizards aren’t chasing wins this season. They’re evaluating who fits long term, and Justin Champagnie is forcing his name into that conversation.

After barely seeing the floor early, Champagnie has earned steady minutes and delivered. Since the new year, he’s averaging 11.5 points and 6.0 rebounds, shooting 60 percent from the field and nearly 43 percent from three.

He’s impacting games beyond scoring too, ranking near the top of the roster in efficiency, rebounding, steals, and blocks.

The Wizards are rebuilding, and spots in the future rotation won’t come easy. Champagnie has responded by producing whenever his role grows.

It hasn’t led to wins, but it has answered an important question.

Justin Champagnie belongs in Washington’s plans.

Tre Johnson is putting on an absolute masterclass in efficiency as he chases a statistical feat that even the greatest veterans struggle to achieve.

All eyes are on D.C. to see if the rookie can maintain this blistering pace and rewrite the record books. 🔥

Washington Wizards legend and five-time All-Star wants Alex Sarr to pick Trae Young ’s brain on the pick-and-roll just like he did with Marcin Gortat years ago.

“I want Alex Sarr to go in and ask questions…‘How can I get better at this? How do I read this coverage? When do I pop, when do I roll?’” Wall said, reminiscing about the chemistry that made Washington a contender from 2013-18.

Back then, Wall and Gortat were the duo that carried the Wizards to four playoff appearances and three Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Now, the script could repeat itself with Young and Sarr. Washington’s 20-year-old center has already shown he can score, pass, and protect the rim.

With Trae setting the table, the Wizards might be on the cusp of something special.

Wall sees the bigger picture: leadership, trust, and mentorship. “All that stuff you heard about him not being a good locker room guy in Atlanta, he’s trying to change that now.

He wants to show people he can be that guy, the leader, the one who gets us back to the playoffs, maybe even back to the Eastern Conference Finals like he did in Atlanta.”

The blueprint is clear.

Now it’s up to Sarr and Trae to bring it to life.

The Wizards are stirring up some serious trade buzz, and Domantas Sabonis keeps popping up.

After the Trae Young blockbuster, could D.C. pull off another big move?

Sabonis is a beast, six straight seasons averaging a double-double, elite passing for a big, and a rebound machine.

If he’s healthy, he’d instantly boost the Wizards on the glass and give Young a top-tier teammate to lean on.

Of course, adding Sabonis comes with some questions. Minutes in the paint get crowded with Alex Sarr, and some of the young guys might see less floor time.

But honestly, the upside is huge: more playoff power, more scoring, and a strong inside-out game that could take this team to the next level.

All in all, this could be exactly the kind of move that shakes up the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards already made a statement with Trae, and Sabonis would just keep the momentum rolling.

"I don't know exactly his resume, but he's a really good basketball player. He can shoot, he can pass, he can create advantages. Just being able to attract defense to him, he's a great passer. I think he's gonna make us better."

Trae Young has been here before.

He once carried the Hawks all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Pressure moments. Hostile arenas. Big expectations.

Now, it’s a new chapter with the Washington Wizards.

It won’t be instant.
It won’t be loud.

But slowly, surely... Trae will lead.
He’ll guide the young core.
He’ll raise the floor, then the ceiling.

The path to the postseason is clear.
And it starts with Trae running the show.

Trae Young's experience will be a positive for the young Wizards.
