The Ben Bradlee Award for Courage in Journalism is awarded to those who have demonstrated an unwavering pursuit of facts in honor of former Editor Ben Bradlee.

Congratulations to Isaac Arnsdorf and Jabin Botsford who have received the 2024 award for their brave reporting during the Trump rally shooting in Butler, PA. Publisher and CEO William Lewis shared, “Isaac’s precise updates and Jabin’s powerful images brought an unprecedented view of a historic event to the public. Isaac and Jabin showed the courage and commitment to tell the full story after shots were fired, to bear witness even though it meant risking their personal safety. They stayed on site for hours to document the unfolding trauma. They stayed until the rally scene was empty and all that was left were strewn chairs, bunting and, as Jabin vividly captured in one of his more memorable images from that day, Trump’s left-behind shoe.”
