Even after the heartbreak of the Commanders’ 55-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, many Washington fans are looking at the glass as half full.
A group of diehard fans greeted the players – Washington’s best football team in decades – as they returned to Dulles International Airport late Sunday. Even after the loss, many fans carried balloons and cheered while beaming with pride.
“I’m just so excited that they could even get to the playoffs, and I’m just so happy,” one young fan said.
Another fan hopes one day, he can tell his kids this season was just the beginning of something great.
“It’s what made me fall in love with the sport again,” another fan said. “I’ve gotten to spend more time with my family, my neighbors… it’s been a magical ride.”

DRIVER RAMS FANS IN PHILLY: Shocking video shows a driver plowing through a crowd after the Commanders-Eagles game last night.
“Everybody dancing, getting along,” a witness told NBC Philadelphia. “Next thing you know a car coming down and it’s speeding and it hit 10 people.”
Another witness told NBC Philadelphia that an argument sparked the incident.
“It was a car. She was on the sidewalk. And she was arguing with some people,” the witness said. “Drove straight down into the crowd and hit probably at least 30 people.”
Multiple people were taken to the hospital. Police have not yet revealed the exact number of people injured or their conditions. NBC Philadelphia spotted several injured people at the scene of the crash. Some of the victims had neck braces on, while others had bandages on their arms and legs.
Police said a suspect is in custody after the crash. They have not yet revealed the person's identity or the charges they'll face.
