Came home yesterday and found my 12-year-old yellow had died. She was having a tough time but I never expected her to die on her own. This is the first one who has not died in my arms and I am feeling incredible guilt for not being there. My five-year-old red lab knows I am sure. I am typing this at 7 am with tears streaming down my 66-year-old face. My whole routine is totally different from now. God spared me from taking her to get put to sleep but I am devastated right now. Thanks for being a group that understands this bond. RIP River, you were a champ

"As I was looking on Facebook, I saw the ad for this dog. Phobic, brutally abused, eating wood and tied up in a yard. His man wanted him "wild" to scare the thieves!!... After the death of my dog that we were together for 17 years and while I had said I would not get another animal, today he came into my life. As soon as I put him in the car he sat on my son's lap and fell asleep. I took this picture to share and show how much all creatures need love.... How much did he need that hug?! From today on we are family... Let's go home! "

Good morning, Commandos! Happy Sunday! Yes, it's going to be another hot one here in Cosmoland. So it will be an inside day for us.
I want to thank you for all your kind words yesterday when I wasn't feeling well. Rest assured, I am back to myself today. It's a good thing because mom woke in the early morning hours very congested and with a sore throat. She took some medicine, went back to bed and just got up. That means I will be administering lots of licks and cuddles today as well as takings naps.
Hope your Sunday is going well and you are all feeling good.

Good morning, Commandos! It's supposed to hit 100 degrees today here in Cosmoland. This will be another inside day for us.
We have a pick up, not a delivery, scheduled for today. Goodwill is coming to pick up a bunch of boxes filled with heaven knows what that have been in our garage for years . There's still more that mom has to go thru when she feels better and it's cooler.
Mom is better but her throat is still sore. That's not stopping her for yelling at me though. She noticed that I made a puddle under the couch. She said I was a bad boy for not using the pads. I am going to hide under my blanket until she calms down.

There were so many things we'd do
While I was growing up
But now the master "hasn't time"
The mistress says i shed
She doesn't want me in the house
Not even to be fed,
The children never walk me
They always say, "not now"
I wish that I could please them.
