Now to Kudus Mohamed and Kamaldeen Suleman.
I know it’s difficult for people to tell you this but I will, for the sake of posterity.
You are basically the reason why our strikers are not scoring. You two have elected yourself as the ‘must score midfielders’. You don’t respect movement of our strikers. You feel you have the willpower to score and for that reason you hold on to the ball for long just to create your own opening and score.
I understand now midfielders are also judged by goals scored but it is not your primary duty.
The Black Stars you guys grew up to love had selfless midfielders like Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien , Laryea Kingston, Derek Boateng, Sulley Muntari etc. These legends monitor movements of Asamoah Gyan before taken a unilateral decision to take scoring challenges. Learn from them.
I would defend Innaki Williams any day, I see his wide runs expecting a crossing from Kamaldeen. I also see his attacking runs expecting Kudus to give a defense splitting pass to pounce on , only for Kudus to turn away from his direction with a solo decision to score. These happened often in the World Cup in Qatar.
Apart from Asamoah Gyan who was ably fed by his generational midfielders, no striker has been able to flourish under this current self centered midfielders.
I know if Kamaldeen was in Paintsil’s position, he wouldn’t have passed to Bukari. He would have shot the ball into the roof of the net finding his own goal.
