Guardian Fleet Services, a national leader in towing and transportation, has acquired Texas Auto Carriers (TAC) of San Antonio, along with its affiliated brands, Ironcat, LLC, and Wheelcat Logistics, LLC.

Founded in 1984 by Ford and LouAnn Wagner, TAC is known for its exceptional service in light and heavy-duty towing, recovery, and auto transport. This acquisition strengthens Guardian’s presence in Southern Texas, marking another major milestone for the company.

Guardian COO Tom Tedford praised the Wagners for building a remarkable organization, saying, “We’re honored and thrilled to build on their legacy.”

Shoutout to the incredible tow truck operators working tirelessly in these dangerous conditions to help stranded drivers and keep essential deliveries moving. “The roads are pretty bad,” said Marcus Trimble, a tow truck operator in Kansas City. “We’re seeing a lot of semis jack-knifed and cars spun out. If you can stay home, do it. Even tow trucks are struggling to get around.”
