Six WCHS Students Earn Associate Degrees Through Roane State Middle College

While most high school seniors were preparing for graduation, these six exceptional students from Wartburg Central High School were already walking across a different stage — receiving their associate degrees from Roane State Community College through the Middle College program.

Catherine Brewer, Ella Monroe, Haylee Morgan, Morgan Nance, Kaylee Roberts, and Ava Wentzel successfully completed this rigorous dual-enrollment pathway, earning two-year college degrees a full week before graduating high school. These students balanced high school requirements with college-level coursework, showing tremendous discipline, maturity, and academic excellence.

Congratulations to Morgan!

Morgan Beard, Central High School alum (2023) graduated from MTSU with her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science May 10, 2025. Morgan will be continuing her educational journey, as she pursues her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at South College.

Morgan completed the Middle College program through Roane State Community College, and graduated with her Associate's Degree while still a high school student. Morgan was blessed to be a part of Dr. Sydney McPhees mentor program while a student at MTSU.

She enjoyed campus life and attended events with the BCM as often as her schedule allowed. She was also a part of Trio SSS, which is a service that supports First Generation Students, among other groups. She was recognized by Trio SSS, during an awards assembly. She was recognized for completing her degree in just two years, while maintaining her GPA of 3.75. Morgan also graduated Cum Laude. She was blessed with the members of Morgan County with many scholarships that helped her along her journey.
