Just before my 60th birthday, I met my birth mom for the first time in a hospital bed. She had been suffering for many years with various illnesses. She passed away this morning peacefully in her sleep. I believe the Lord kept her just long enough to meet me. She birthed me at age 18 and she made the decision to give me up for adoption. She hoped it would lead to a better life for me although she was very conflicted doing so. Everyone of my 3 brothers, Chris Cummings, Darrell Cumm, and Eugene Cummings IV as well as my Aunt Eula Rush and Uncle Richard Rush told me of her love for me was unceasing. Rest in Heaven Mom.

Glenville High School does not have a marching band, so when it won its first-ever state football title Saturday (Dec. 3) in Canton, it had the help of some good friends -- the Warrensville Heights High School marching band, who played to spur on the Tarblooder faithful.
