Choosing the right shop to service/restore your classic car is so important.

As people who have worked in both the collision and the restoration world we can tell you that while they share alot of similarities, they are also vastly different. We would recommend dealing with a shop that focuses exclusively on classic cars vs a collision shop for the following reasons:

* They may take on your project when they’re slow, but as soon as business picks up your project will likely be pushed to the back corner of the shop as they need to prioritize their insurance work (remember, that’s how they make their money)

* The paint and body process can be significantly different. Things like the use of epoxy primer before filler, utilizing spray polyester, and spraying 3+ coats of clear with the intent of cut and buffing is not common practice in the collision world

* A lack of understanding of all things classic cars such as how to property align/shim panels, hardware, tips and tricks for disassembly/reassebly that come with years of experience dealing with these cars.

Lastly, you’re probably investing a lot of your hard earned money into this. Maybe it’s a vehicle you’ve inherited from a family member that’s passed, or maybe it’s the car you’ve dreamed about owning when you were a little kid. Make sure the people working on your vehicle are just as excited about taking this journey with you!

That’s where we come in. We’d love to help restore, refurbish, or rebuild your ride with you for 2025 💫

When you trust your classic car to a restoration shop, you want more than just a service—you want passion, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. That’s what sets an employee-owned business apart.

Unlike shops where the owner is only in it for profit, an employee-owned business is driven by people who truly care. We are craftsmen, not just workers. Every car that comes through our doors is treated as if it were our own because our reputation is on the line. We take pride in our work, knowing that our skills and dedication shape the final result.

For us, it’s not just about completing a job—it’s about creating something exceptional. That’s the difference passion makes. That’s the difference of working with people who care. 🙌

This 1952 Mercedes-Benz MB194 Spider is one of just a handful of prototype racing cars built by Mercedes-Benz in the early 1950s. As a direct predecessor to the iconic 300 SL “Gullwing,” it shares much of the same mechanical DNA. Originally a coupe, this MB194 was modified into a roadster to help its driver stay cool during the grueling 1,000-mile Mexican road race, the Carrera Panamericana. It was piloted by legendary racer John Fitch, a name forever etched in motorsport history.

Only one other MB194 survives today, preserved in unrestored condition at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. This particular car, nearly lost to history, underwent an extraordinary restoration after its remnants—including the original serial-numbered drivetrain—were acquired by our client. Our team embarked on a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration to recreate the car as it raced in 1952, complete with period-accurate details like the crude racing license plate mandated by Mexican authorities.
The car made its triumphant return with John Fitch himself behind the wheel at Lime Rock Park in the early 2000s, an unforgettable moment in automotive history.
