They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but Ed the Wizard taught attendees some trickery at his “Magic for Seniors” event at the Wareham Council on Aging on Friday, May 24.

This coming weekend, the Wareham High School students with the Viking Theatre Company will bring the world of the Peanuts comics to life with their production of the musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Performances are scheduled for Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 at 7 p.m. and for Sunday, May 19 at 2 p.m. They will take place at Wareham High School, 7 Viking Drive.

Pups and their people played in the Wareham Dog Park on Saturday, May 4, just as they do on a regular basis. However, they weren’t just there for a normal weekend meet-and-greet; they were there to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the dog park’s opening.

Chris Christopulos IV has known for years what he wanted his Eagle Scout project to be.

Christopulos, a Wareham resident who’s part of Rochester’s Boy Scout Troop 31, visited Battleship Cove in Fall River when he was 12. The park is a war memorial and museum and hosts the battleship USS Massachusetts, the destroyer USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. and other military vehicles.

“I said to myself, ‘I’m going to do my Eagle Scout project here,’” said Christopulos, remembering his trip to the park.

Now, he’s getting the chance to do just that.
