With Memorial Day approaching, the Downtown Improvement Committee will again offer a new way to honor those who have served in the military, by having veterans' photos and names on a Hometown Heroes banner.
These banners will be hung from the lampposts that line Main Street, which were installed near the completion of the Downtown Improvement project earlier this year. The lampposts have arms included on their frames, which can be utilized for promotional banners.
The Downtown Improvement Committee has set up an annual plan for seasonally themed banners.
There is a limit of 30 banner locations.
Each banner will consist of a veteran’s head shot with the branch of service, formatted on a patriotic background.
For more information, contact Committee member and Ware Business & Civic Association President Dan Flynn at the Ware River News office on 80 Main St., call 413-297-5886 or email [email protected]. The cost of a banner is $75, with check payable to Town of Ware.
