Season 5 is here! This round, we'll be exploring the transformative power of world-building and imagination. What future do we envision? How can we start living in that world today? How will we collaborate to create a more just, loving, and peaceful world? While it's simple to define the systems we are fighting against, we are intrigued by the systems and the world deserving of our time and attention.

If you loved Adria's episode from this past season, you can join her for this amazing workshop on campus at Pendle Hill in September!

Join Adria Gulizia this September for an on-campus workshop: Embracing Spiritual Gifts.

Only by understanding the nature of spiritual gifts can we appreciate that none of us can see God’s will in full. Only by coming together in our differences and creating spaces in which all gifts are welcome can our life together be a testimony to God’s wisdom, God’s righteousness, and–most of all–God’s love.
In our time together, we will explore the gifts and roles laid out in Ephesians 4: the gifts of the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the shepherd, and the teacher. We will reflect on the blessings and challenges of each and how they manifest among us today, focusing particularly on how we nurture these gifts into flourishing, suppress them into extinction, or twist them into toxicity by the spiritual environments we create in our meetings, churches and organizations. We will also make time to celebrate what the Spirit is doing in ourselves and in each other.

Our first guest of Season 4 will be with the one and only Parker Palmer! His episode will air next week on Tuesday the 2nd, and we're so excited for you to hear this conversation.

Parker came to Pendle Hill as a resident student in the fall of 1974, an experience that stretched into an eleven year tenure as the Dean of Studies. His time here catalyzed his relationship with Quakerism and shaped his work, thought, and writings on pedagogy and spiritual communities. This work, and his ongoing contributions to Pendle Hill, continue to have an incredible influence on the study, work and worship here on campus and beyond. Parker’s writings have been instrumental in my own relationship to Quaker Education, and his bulletin on “Meeting for Learning” has grounded and inspired our work on the podcast.
