This is Chris. The below thread with pics is just a VERY SMALL sampling. We have many more. Council Leader Matthew Durham runs Oconee County and NEVER ONCE HAS DURHAM DENOUNCED THE THREATS AND SLURS HIS HENCHMEN DO ON A REGULAR BASIS. He is the top dog and they all sniff his ass to stay in good graces. Durham is also a known homophobic and posted on his page a slur (below) against our Oconee County LGBT community. That is also against Duke Energy policy. Just like their bullying of Duke employees is against Duke policy. Duke will eventually have to act based on the damage a few of their LOW LEVEL employees affiliated with the OCC have done to the Duke brand. It will happen.

So all of you from the OCC crying 'crocodile tears 'for what happened yesterday and which was handled promptly and honorably... LTO will put our reputations up against yours any day of the week. Any day. We will tell the truth and we will act responsibly. We will also NEVER STOP calling out your bullying, hate, antisemitism, misogyny, xenophobia and harassment of the decent people of Oconee County. The Democratic Party made a statement and Mary Anne has stepped down from her leadership position. Period. It is over. Period. What is NOT over is Mary Anne is a dear friend of mine and I care deeply for her. THAT IS NOT OVER AND NEVER WILL BE! This is Rannie, as a veteran and a constitutional conservative who believes the constitution actually applies to every citizen I want to address something about Mary Ann’s comment and the 1st Amendment.

The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This same Constitutional Amendment that allows the constant barrage of lies and partisan political Neanderthal rhetoric at the public comment podium at county council meetings also allows people to say all the weird things they want. Even Marry Anne!

The disturbing part that has led to my post here is I have seen 100’s of comments from local folks on other pages that applaud the extreme right for their vile language, rhetoric, and actions ….who are in no way constitutional scholars nor have they ever been willing to defend the rights of others without regard to political affiliation or for what they are saying or doing, ……expressing that what Mary Anne posted was illegal.

That is simply not true, what she said was in very poor taste and if she held position in the opposition party that certainly can and will tarnish some corporate reputation. But let’s be honest, the ones feigning their disgust and calling for her ousting weren’t ever supporting the OCDP anyway.

Here is a recent example of threats to a protected official….

This guy Dan Hanson was arrested after he was warned his content was inappropriate and he kept escalating his post. On November 19, 2023, Hanson posted online a series of threatening statements including one that stated, “ I’m asking you to resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered.”

This guy gave a choice between resigning and brutal murder.

“I’m pi**ed he missed”. Is vile for sure, but there was no threat by Mary Ann toward anyone.

She was removed from LTO as quickly as it was noticed because we felt it was very poor taste, not illegal, but very poor taste. We remove and ban repulsive people all the time. Most of them just create fake accounts and are back within the hour, but when we realize them we remove them as well.

SENECA — It turns out that a massive "air clog" is holding up the Sewer South Phase 2 project. This vital endeavor aims to connect the Coneross Wastewater Treatment Plant in Seneca to the South Carolina Welcome Center. Who knew air could be such a party pooper?

Chris Eleazer, the executive director of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority, broke the news to the sewer authority’s finance and administration committee on Tuesday. He assured them that Moorhead Construction, the company on the job, is working on some extra tweaks to blow this problem away.

“The engineers were pretty confident — like, 'take-it-to-the-bank' confident — that we'd be up and running by now, at the end of June,” Eleazer said Tuesday morning. “Well, guess what? It’s not.”
