When I started the studio, the very first thing that I wanted to be able to do is help my community. Being in the military, for a long time, usually meant that we did not get to be part of any community that we were in. Because we had to be gone so much, and we were undependable at best when it came to time commitments. Since we have relocated here to Tennessee, and I’m never moving again, it has given my studio the chance to be part of a real community! And now officially a sponsor of Portland high school girls Soccer! Go Lady Panthers!!!!

I'm so happy to announce that Byrdsongs Studios is now part of the Velvet Midnight Records Network! We will be one of the studios that their artists will use to put out new music. It's an amazing network, and they are really smart, and they care about their artists! Being a musician, that was my biggest concern! I'll have lots of photos soon for everyone of some great new up and coming artists!

Another great gig down! Headed home on an early early early flight. I might be getting too old for the 2 hours of sleep thing… but LA is really pretty, and I had no idea the weather here was so amazing!!! Time for an airplane nap

We’re playing in Los Angeles this weekend! And I found my certificates to put on the wall in the studio. I always promised I would put my Eagle Scout certificate up with any degree in my office some day.
And I got a sweet exit row on my flight to California! The weather here is glorious! It’s like 58 out tonight!

It was an awesome last couple weeks on the road and at home! I got to see some old friends who came through Nashville to play a show, and I got to play in texas and Georgia to really amazing crowds! Now it’s back to the studio!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks! I got to play in Cleveland behind a sweet pole, fix the tour van, see old friends, take my wife to the St. Louis Arch for the first time, and see the Anheuser-Busch brewery!! Which of course meant we got to drink Budweiser right out of the gigantic finisher barrel thing!! It’s really good!!! And finished it off with the best breakfast pizza I ever had!

What a neat week! My dad was in town on the motorcycle, then I had an emergency pop session with a really fun band, and now I’m in Omaha getting ready to do a show that just happens to be the first show I played with the Garth band last year!

I am a little jet lagged as I hit the studio this morning. And it’s totally worth it! I just spent some time with and some great friends bringing the Gospel and helping worship leaders in Hong Kong. It is severely less easy to be a Christian in Hong Kong. And those people despite that, serve the Lord with all their might. Every trip somewhere like that gives me new energy. And a little conviction that I’m pretty relaxed and lazy in my walk with Christ here at home. This was an amazing trip!! And we worked with amazing people!! And we saw some people get saved!! Thank you to my travel buddies and of course adventure buddy for all the great times and weird food and memories, and of course thank you the most to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving us a family around the world. Let me always be a faithful big brother and use me for whatever you need me for!

Headed out for a far away destination! So the two things I need are my war guitar from forrestleejr and my old deployment backpack! And old man shoes that my wife just loves..
I’m figuring out BNA airport with a guitar. Definitely put all your stuff in a gallon ziplock. That way you can take it all out at the same time. And of course they didn’t zip my gig bag all the way shut so my guitar almost fell out when they brought it back to me.
Anyways…. I got to run into a couple old friends this morning, and a few songwriters headed to key west! Be good America! I’ll be home soon!!!!

I keep realizing that I want to show people pictures of the studio, and i always wondered if there was a way that online we could instantly gram them.... anyway, this is for my own selfish reasons for when I'm talking about the studio to people and want to show them what it looks like! enjoy!
