We went down to muscle shoals to see some family, and so I forced them to take me to see some studios! It was so much fun! And I finally got to meet little Sophia and hang out with her and her best friend!

A great show in the books with and my best friend built me the coolest pedalboard on earth! And it’s got the studio logo!! So when you come to record and need to use every they have, I’ll have it on this pedalboard for you! Now to do some mixing, and get ready for February! Also, my dogs were so happy to see me when I got home they cut my face. Hahaha!!

January means touring season! We had one session to start the year, then I got busy learning songs, and today is the first tour of the year!!! As always, the animals help me learn songs.

Getting ready for the first session of the year today! We’re going to have some legends playing today! I can’t wait to hear what they do with these songs!

Also, it was Christmas, so the family had to wear matching pajamas…..

It’s new string day in the studio! 10 or so guitars and some basses and a mandolin and banjos and a couple ukuleles. We got a big session coming next week! And earlier this week, the first album recorded here by was released!!!! So I added some memories of that day. And Christmas lights. Because Christmas lights. I like changing strings and drinking coffee and watching mindless episodes of the office!

I spent the week last week helping get their techs up to muster in Memphis, TN at the even though I had to wear a suit, it was a lot of fun!!!

We went out on the road last week to Maine and Vermont. So pretty! But it’s nice to get back home and into the studio! We’re open for business! Give me a call!

It’s nice to get out of the studio sometimes and get on the road…. Tonight is a great venue in Shipshewana! It’s always fun to play places like this. Built for loading in and playing! I love festivals and outdoor stages, but this is also amazing!! We’re gonna have fun tonight!!! Also, the camera on the LED wall was focused on our stage rack…. So I had to get a photo of that!

Well, everyone…. You’ve been watching me build this place for the last almost 2 years. And this past week was it! The studio is finished! And we had our first session! I figured I would go all out as big as possible… we had the A-List on this session!! Forrest Lee Jr on guitar, Ira Dean on bass, Billy Thomas on drums, Mike Johnson on pedal steel, Tim McDonald on keys, and Tim Crouch on fiddle. The artist was Ray Neyens, and his songs were great!!! The players really killed it…there was never any doubt that would happen…
We had good local food from in Westmoreland, the local bakery made a bunch of cookies for us, and the music was awesome!
Then, the second day, Jamie O’Neil and her sister Minnie came to lay down some vocals. We were able to chat about some fun old Air Force band friends like Mr Ballangee, and the fun times in great places like Iraq… it was a blast!!!!
Everyone from the inaugural session signed the door. And the room sounds AMAZING!!!! That being said….. Byrdsongs Studios is officially open for business! Come make some music and great memories!!!

This weekend and week have been amazing! It’s final touches week, because starting Tuesday, is open for business!!!!!!
And my tour with brought us to my old college stomping grounds. So I got to see my mom, and my dad, and the 4 best friends I have ever had in my whole entire life! And of course now I’m the scoreboard guy and announcer for the team! It’s a week of remembering, hysterical laughter, stress, and excitement! And now the studio is ready, so I’m gonna finally shave this beard!!!

This past week was all kinds of exciting! The grand piano is in the studio, and also I went on a quick run to Bristol and Atlanta. And I’m writing this from my hotel room in Chicago getting ready to head to sound check for tonight. And tomorrow I get to see my mom at a show!!!!!

The studio has air conditioning… you know what that means? Everything is now plugged in and routed and ready to record!!!!!!!
Now I’m just trying to find a plumber. Also, we went on vacation and got some of the greatest ice cream on earth!!!! First session is in September! It’s almost time!!

So much to say! Sorry I’ve been away so long! Things are really amping up now!! I’ve also started touring with the Ultimate Garth tribute band. And the HVAC is being installed while I write this on the way to Chicago for a quick out and back show. Then on to vacation! Oh……. And the first Byrdsongs Studios session is booked!!!!!!! We’re open in September!!!!!!!
