It’s been a busy couple of weeks! I got to play in Cleveland behind a sweet pole, fix the tour van, see old friends, take my wife to the St. Louis Arch for the first time, and see the Anheuser-Busch brewery!! Which of course meant we got to drink Budweiser right out of the gigantic finisher barrel thing!! It’s really good!!! And finished it off with the best breakfast pizza I ever had!

What a neat week! My dad was in town on the motorcycle, then I had an emergency pop session with a really fun band, and now I’m in Omaha getting ready to do a show that just happens to be the first show I played with the Garth band last year!

I am a little jet lagged as I hit the studio this morning. And it’s totally worth it! I just spent some time with and some great friends bringing the Gospel and helping worship leaders in Hong Kong. It is severely less easy to be a Christian in Hong Kong. And those people despite that, serve the Lord with all their might. Every trip somewhere like that gives me new energy. And a little conviction that I’m pretty relaxed and lazy in my walk with Christ here at home. This was an amazing trip!! And we worked with amazing people!! And we saw some people get saved!! Thank you to my travel buddies and of course adventure buddy for all the great times and weird food and memories, and of course thank you the most to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving us a family around the world. Let me always be a faithful big brother and use me for whatever you need me for!

Headed out for a far away destination! So the two things I need are my war guitar from forrestleejr and my old deployment backpack! And old man shoes that my wife just loves..
I’m figuring out BNA airport with a guitar. Definitely put all your stuff in a gallon ziplock. That way you can take it all out at the same time. And of course they didn’t zip my gig bag all the way shut so my guitar almost fell out when they brought it back to me.
Anyways…. I got to run into a couple old friends this morning, and a few songwriters headed to key west! Be good America! I’ll be home soon!!!!

I keep realizing that I want to show people pictures of the studio, and i always wondered if there was a way that online we could instantly gram them.... anyway, this is for my own selfish reasons for when I'm talking about the studio to people and want to show them what it looks like! enjoy!

There are some pretty old things in my studio. But sometimes old things die. Not the chair yet! Haha but the old cheese grater Mac Pro has served its country (music) for well over a decade. So original Byrdsongs Studios Mac is being put out to pasture, and I will give its motherboard a folded American flag. Now I’ve got the new Mac Pro cheese grater from space! I’ve been moving all my plugins and pro tools over to the new super computer. Now if this is as good as the other one, I won’t need another computer until 2040!!
Technology has come a long way since 2010!! Chair… you’re next.

I haven’t posted in a while! Here’s some stuff that’s been going on since I last was instagramming! This was a mother daughter painting party that was held here in the studio! My amazing wife set it all up, and they had a great time! And boy did that live room sound good!!!

Well, , you were right. The added bonus of flying out of BNA is that you also pop little holes in your finger from loose strings, and start bleeding at TSA. I lost a very very important personal item in security today because they decided it was a weapon. When they were going through my stuff, I had to actually say, “so you don’t get a lot of guitars at the Nashville airport?” To which they said, “too many”. Clearly not enough to build a system though. FML. You fail again BNA.
