Dropping off this award to Ashley Hohenberger at the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club was so rewarding. Ashley was beyond excited and we had the opportunity to learn more about the incredible impact the club has on kids in our community.

Nominations for included "Page 158 hosts an annual event called Lit Fest that bringing together readers and writers to celebrate books, spread literacy awareness and raise funds for non-profit New Kids on the Books."

We want to share some of the Forest Awards winners with you throughout the next couple of weeks as they pick up their awards.

Young's Gym was voted the winner in the category of Family Entertainment. One of the nominations mentioned "Young's Gym is a family-owned business with great classes and a safe environment for kids" while another one included "this is the only place we've been able to host our son's birthdays and class parties over the past few years. They are super accommodating to special needs children and the teens that work there are really great with the kids".

It's been so nice seeing awards out in the wild! 🌳🏆

We wanted to take a minute to (again) thank everyone for making this year such a success. 🙏

We created the Forest Awards out of frustration with other awards becoming a popularity contest and pay-to-play. It was never a true reflection of what community-based awards should be. As a reminder, the Forest Awards are NOT a "best of" award. It in no way reflects anyone's standing in the community as a business. It is more of an "Employee of the Year" award, recognizing businesses and individuals for their outstanding contributions to our community. We are celebrating those that went above and beyond this year to support their customers, community members, and fellow small businesses. More than anything, the Forest Awards acts as a reminder to spread kindness.

We will continue to share our mission and ways to give back in the community, so we hope you'll stay tuned!
