Hi friends -- Tina here with a huge favor to ask. Clean water is vital for life and a cause near and dear to my heart. In 2011, my husband and I raised $17,000+ and went to this remote Fijian village and had a well dug so the children could have safe water to drink and go to school. As is to be expected after 14 years, the borehole pump is broken. Without a new pump, the children cannot attend school or focus on their education. By donating, you’re not just helping to fix a pump—you’re giving children the chance to go to school, stay healthy, and build a brighter future.

The cost of the new borehole pump is quoted at $4,000 Fijian dollars ($1,724 American dollars) and the school doesn't have the resources to cover it. Your generosity can make all the difference for these young lives.

Here is another update on Jackie Koncz, the Norton mom of three who recently underwent a heart transplant in Tennessee after a hospital mishap here. Jackie has been resting the past few days after some minor complications from having her chest tubes removed. Her doctor says it's nothing unusual, just working through the ups and downs. In the meantime, the family has been gifted a temporary home in Nashville! They will need to live near Vanderbilt Hospital for the next 6-12 months -- as Jackie's new heart needs to be closely monitored. The family continues to be grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers!

UPDATE: Major power outage across Wadsworth before 7 a.m. Wind caused a limb to fall onto a power line at Crestwood and Route 261, knocking out a circuit. Power was restored by 7:30 a.m. Schools were not impacted. Thank you power crews and Wadsworth PD for the quick response!

Bluecoats of Medina County, Inc. is excited about their first-ever Adult Safety Town event on May 14! Attendees will put out a fire with the Wadsworth Fire and EMS Department, see if they can pass a sobriety test wearing drunk goggles, test their school bus safety acumen, take a 911 call, get their mugshot taken, and more! Tickets include appetizers and two cocktails (cash bar available).
