Thursday will be unseasonably warm with highs in the 50s. We drop down into the 40s by Friday, but will still be running a few degrees above normal through the weekend. Looking ahead, it seems that our warm spell will continue through the rest of the month.

Crazy temperature swings ahead! 🌴 ---> 🌬

Two major pattern shifts are expected for the first half of November. Much warmer air is expected this week with highs in the 60s and 70s. These temperatures are 15-25 degrees above our normal highs in the upper 40s. A powerful cold front will push through late next weekend and bring tumbling temperatures for the following week.

After spending the last 10 days in a winter preview, we begin a gradual warmup today, which will culminate in highs back in the 50s and 60s by the middle of next week. Outside of some light snow into central Minnesota Thursday night, the next week looks dry.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for portions of central MN and west-central WI until 7pm this evening. Snowfall rates will increase and become heaviest during the afternoon commute. Expected snow accumulations of 4-6", with locally higher amounts possible.
