Nine fire departments from St. Louis and Itasca counties fought a large house fire this mornng in Silica Township, south of Hibbing. The fire was reported around 10:15 on Swan River Drive West. The house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The house is a total loss. Departments responding to the fire included: Silica, Hibbing, Goodland, Toivola, Meadowlands, Elmer,Nashwauk, Keewatin, and Cherry. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
