Meet our Pitbull Tobacco & More Furry Friday pets of the week, a mother and son duo, Brizo and Davy Jones! Both are German Shepherd/Viszla mixes, Brizo is 5 and Davy is 4. They were surrendered through no fault of their own to Chesapeake Animal Services and would love to go to another loving home together.
Both are fabulous with children! They were raised with kids and are very social and loving. They also get along well with other dogs. Both are house and crate-trained.
Davy has never been separated from Brizo and takes his cues from her. He is the shyer of the two but warms up pretty quickly and will be begging for belly rubs in no time! The only thing Brizo loves more than Davy is tennis balls! She will hoard them, so when you play fetch, you’ll need at least two. Davy’s love is chew toys and treats, but he does love to watch his mom chase tennis balls!
Both of these wonderful pups know and follow commands for ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘up’. Davy will also give a ‘high five’. Brizo and Davy both like walks and are great on the leash. They are also great in the car.
If you would like to get to know Brizo and Davy Jones better, you can take them out for Snout and About this Saturday. Since they are a bonded pair, they are allowed to go on field trips together.

Nova and Zoey are two adorable bonded sisters looking for a loving home together. They are spayed, vaccinated and have tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.
These precious girls are approximately 2 years old and have been surrendered to Suffolk Humane Society through no fault of their own.
These sweet sisters are looking for a loving family who can give them the attention and companionship they deserve!

Fostering is truly a lifesaver, and it’s needed now more than ever. From adult cats and kittens to puppies, dogs, rabbits, and more, Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter (PRAS) provides all the supplies and support you need to care for a PRAS pet.
As one of the largest open-intake shelters in Virginia, PRAS is constantly looking for foster homes to help with the large number of animals in our care. At any given time, we may have over 200+ cats and kittens, 30+ dogs, and a handful of pocket pets in foster care.
Fostering not only saves lives but helps us gather valuable personality and behavior information so we can better match pets with adopters in our community. By fostering, you’re not just saving a life—you’re making a difference for families looking to adopt. 🐾

This week, we're featuring three momma cats and their adorable nursing babies. 🐱🐱🐱 PHS desperately needs foster homes to help these mommas rest and give the kittens the socialization they need.
Portsmouth Humane provides all vet care, so there are no fees or costs for fostering. All you need to do is provide a safe home for these mommas to recover and for their babies to get to know humans so they can be adopted!
Foster parents are vital to Portsmouth Humane Society's mission, enabling them to save as many lives as possible. By fostering, you're not only giving an animal a chance to become more adoptable but also making room for another homeless animal in the shelter.
Newborn kittens in shelters can be vulnerable to illness because their immune systems are still developing. Foster homes offer a safe environment where kittens can stay healthy, fed, and warm. Plus, you'll provide the socialization and cuddle time they need to learn about positive family and pet relationships.

Miss Kitty is our Pitbull Tobacco & More Pet of the Week at Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center. This 2-year-old has spent half her life in the shelter, waiting for her forever home since April 2023! 🏡
Best in a home without children or other pets, Miss Kitty is described by staff as a "dog cat." She’s a friendly, playful girl who can get a bit spicy when overstimulated. She needs an able owner who can provide enough mental stimulation and activities to keep her engaged. She would love a patio or catio to enjoy some outdoor time! 🌞
